Chrishawna Wilson, LVT
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Chrishawna obtained her associate's degree in Applied Science of Veterinary Technoology from the Minnesota School of Business in 2011. One of her life goals has been to work in veterinary medicine; to grow in it and help provide quality medical care in all aspects of the veterinary field. Subsequent to her training in Minnesota, Chrishawna moved to Alaska to start her career as a veterinary technician, eventually achieving credentialing as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in Alaska in December 2011. Chrishawna has worked with a variety of species of animals; from pocket pets, reptiles and zoo animals, to equine and, of course, small animals such as dogs and cats. Through this work she gained experience in many different areas of veterinary medicine. She has worked in general practice, as well as small and large animal emergency veterinary settings. Most recently, she worked alongside Dr. Priddy, a boarded veterinary surgeon, who's mobile surgery business and surgical talents serviced animals across the entire state of Alaska. Working in this capacity, she enjoyed being able to scrub in and assist with life-saving procedures. With Dr. Priddy retiring from his practice in 2023, a new door opened for Chrishawna to join the Polar Eyes Veterinary Ophthalmology team. She looks forward to seeing (pun intended) this new opportunity turn into a career in veterinary ophthalmology.
